Healing Arts Scotland Conference Speaker
Caroline heads up the work of the Discovery & Participation department for the Edinburgh International Festival, leading on the festival-wide strategy, partnerships and creative development in this area, as well as being part of the programming team. The work of Discovery & Participation at the Edinburgh International Festival is centred on connections, connecting young people, communities and artists and creatives, with the Festival, the world and each other through shared cultural experiences. Working year round to create pathways to our Festival in August, and building legacy to the live moments we share together.
Previously she worked for Horsecross Arts, Perth Theatre and Perth Concert Hall as Head of Creative Learning and was Associate Artist for the Royal Lyceum Theatre's Creative Learning Department. As Training and Participation Manager, she was formative in establishing the National Festival of Youth Theatre, Chrysalis Festival and national training programmes for Youth Theatre Arts Scotland. Caroline has also worked as a Theatre Director, practitioner and facilitator for organisations including Traverse Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Lyceum Theatre, Citizen’s Theatre, Thickskin, LIVE Theatre, and youth theatre and youth arts companies across Scotland. She is frequently consulted and asked to speak with other organisations on community engagement and cultural leadership. Most recently she has been a guest lecturer at Napier University.
