Sarah Johnson

As Carnegie Hall’s Chief Education Officer for the past 19 years, Sarah Johnson directs the Hall’s Weill Music Institute, the historic concert venue’s education and social impact arm. Programs created by WMI serve hundreds of thousands of people annually, including children, students, teachers, parents, young music professionals, and adults in the New York City metropolitan area, across the United States, and around the world. This includes work in prisons, using music as a meaningful tool for self-expression and transformation, for both young people and adults. Carnegie Hall remains involved throughout the reentry process, providing ongoing community and support.
